Lambie's Grounded

Lambie got grounded for a week because we love her so much. Hailey insisted on taking her with us to someone else's house and left her there. So as a consequence, Lambie couldn't leave the house for a week. I took this opportunity to teach Hailey on why parents have rules and punishments. I helped her take part of being the parent.

We also put toys in time out for causing fights. I think it has a more powerful impact then putting the child in time sometimes. It also eliminates the arguments on who started the fight when I wasn't able to see what really happened.
This is Hailey and Lambie at 11 months. Look at how white lambie is!!!

This current picture was taken in January and this is as clean as Lambie gets.

Hailey's Talk

Hailey gave a talk in primary today on following the prophet. To prepare for it, I asked her three questions everyday for a week.

What it the prophet's name?
Why is he special?
How can we follow him?

I got a picture of the prophet from the library to help her or if all else fails and she won't talk, she could at least hold the picture up. I expected that would would be too shy and wouldn't talk. However she surprised by by bolding going up to the front and with a little prompting said:

"Thomas S. Monson is the prophet. Follow the prophet by choosing the right. He loves us."

I was very impressed and proud of my little girl.

Also, today we were told that Robert prayed in nursery all by himself. He also loves to pray and is always thankful for the food whether we are eating or not.

Robert's Birthday

For Robert's 2nd Birthday, we went to McKee's Pet Store and saw baby ducks. Robert loves animals. He knows all his animal sounds.
Then after having pizza for lunch, Robert opened his presents.
The video below shows how Robert had to throw away the wrapping paper before he would really look at the present itself. I have observed recently that he loves to clean and wash his hands. He doesn't like being dirty.

Darlene and Wayne were able to come and celebrate his birthday with us.
Hailey got a LeapFrog Pen that reads books to her. Robert really liked her pen so for his birthday, I got him the Junior version of her pen with two additional books, Cars and Curious George.
And he has the handing storage case to keep everything organized.
Robert got a tool set from Darlene and Wayne that has a drill.
Then we were surprised by the FedEx guy who had excellent timing and delivered more presents for Robert right as he was finishing off everything that we had.
Robert is really into trains right now. Ryan's family (my brother) gave him a Thomas DVD for Christmas. Robert loves watching it over and over. So for his birthday, my mom got him a train set and more Thomas DVD's. For the next two days, Robert had to bring Thomas into bed with him as a comfort toy.

Also he got more tools and a cute book "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam".
I made this cake for him, copying the idea out of a cake for kids cookbook. I love how it turned out and Robert was thrilled with it.
I love how happy he is in this picture.

Here he is playing with his Choo-Choo trains. It was fun seeing him scoot around the track with his trains.

Hannah's 3 months

I love my sweet pea who is now 3 months old. On February 25, she weighed 11 lbs 4 oz and is 23 inches long. She smiles and coos a lot. She has no intent to roll over or play with toys. I haven't set up a schedule for her so she's pretty spoiled and gets to eat and sleep whenever she wants to. She generally wakes up once in the night.

She's a very easy going baby and loves her siblings.
This video was taken on the day she turned 3 months.

Hannah is playing peek-a-boo with herself in this video.

The last video is of Hannah's usually sounds which is sucking. Some kids suck on pacifiers and some on the hands, but Hannah sucks on air. She did this for at least 5 minutes.

Pictures by Hailey

Hailey's new thing is to take pictures. So the following pictures are all by Hailey. The turned out pretty good however the pictures that you don't see here are close ups of my knee or other odd angles.

I wonder if I always look this tall to Hailey. And I love that her thumb is in the picture. Holding cameras can be very strange.

Here's the beloved Lambie.

Drive-in

The ward had a drive-in activity at the commons. The kids could have cardboard box cars if their parents felt like making one. I was saving diaper boxes for this activity but wasn't sure how to turn these small boxes into cute cars. Then I went outside to throw away the trash and noticed my neighbor was spray painting her boxes. She made a cute purple bus for her little girl and Lighting McQueen for her boy. I was very impressed with how they looked and was excited to make a car for my kids. She let me use her left over spray paint. So I made a Princess car for Hailey and tried to make a Caterpillar Truck for Robert but it just ended up looking like a school bus. On the back of the cars I put their initials in glitter for their licences plates.

They liked their cars a lot, especially Robert who spent the most time in it.

I wanted to take more pictures of the cars when we got home. However, my house was a mess and I didn't want the cars inside until I picked up the front room. I didn't think that was a big deal and kept them outside fully intending for the kids to play with them the next day. I also thought that there would be no chance or rain or snow but was completely wrong when I woke up and found the boxes ruined by the rain. Robert was very sad to see them go.
I'm glad I made the cute cars for them.
