Boo-tactular

We went to the Boo-Tactular at the Student Union tonight. Hannah dressed up as a witch, Robert was a fire fighter and Hailey was Cinderella.

There were tons of games, too many to go through individually. There were bowling, golfing, ring tossing, crafts, basketball, and target practice type games.  Robert got his face painted with Thomas. We also got a kick out of how Robert golfed. He hit the ball at first then moved the ball with his hands to be close to the hole, then hit it in.  Next year, we shouldn't get away with cheating as he does now.

 Hailey did great at all the games and had a fun time. She got Cinderella painted on her face.

 Here is there big loot from the evening.  Most of the things they got were toys and prizes and not candy.

 They also got these cool t-shirts for coming. Robert won the cake walk and got these two big bags of baked goods.  I am so glad we went.

Science Fair

After Boo at the Zoo, we went to Pizza Hut for dinner. Then we headed over to the Science Fair at the College.  There were a lot of cool things going on but I think it was a little too much for us.  There were over 20 different stations and way too many people.  Also we haven't had our naps yet. I'm glad we went, I got some good ideas on science things to do with the kids.  One of the booths was making a solar oven out of a pizza box to cook s'mores.

 Then the funky ball with cool glowing lights inside.  I really have never understood what that is or why it works.

 Then there was a station about our brain and optical illusions. The kids enjoyed holding the model of the brain. 

 Nathan just stood back and held a very heavy, sleeping Hannah.

The last station we went to was about floating and sinking.  They made boats out of foil and the workers had little washers to test out their boats.  Hailey was really trying to make her boat work, while Robert was using his boat to scoop the water up.

The way we heard about this was because my friend's husband is in the MicroBiology Program. There booth was about how effective kids are at washing there hands. They gave the kids "germs" that could only be seen under a black light, then the kids were supposed to wash them off and go back to check to see how well they did.  Robert loved this, playing in water and his hands glowing.  This also taught me that my kids are not the best at washing hands.

Boo at Pocatello Zoo

 We had one busy Saturday.  We went to Boo at the Zoo around 11:00am. Since the costume judging was starting then, we quickly added our kids even though we didn't expect them to win.  They do have real costumes but I just love how we all match in our black pumpkin shirts. Also with it being outside and with animals, I didn't want them to wear anything that couldn't get cleaned easily.

There was a lot for the kids to do.  They had bowling, where Hailey did a grandma bowl.  There was a bean bag toss, where Robert ran up to the hole and then throw it in instead of staying by the line.  Of course we saw animals and the also played on the spider web that is also there.

Hannah spent most of her time in the stroller. She was okay with that and played with their goodie bags.

Robert's favorite animal that he was excited about was the baby cow.

The kid's favorite activity was jumping in the leaves.  Robert just dove right in. We stayed here at least 20 minutes.  Hannah loved the leaves and didn't try to eat them too much.

While the kids played and I was standing guard to make sure Hannah doesn't get buried, Nathan was checking out the kid's loot.

The kids also made a spider out of an egg carton and made a bat. The zoo also had a fishing game for them.

I also wanted to point out that I wear matching tights and had a black shirt on that said I love (which was really a pumpkin instead of a heart) Halloween.  Nathan also wear his Budget Ninja Costume Shirt.  We had a lot of fun and that was the longest we have stayed at the Pocatello Zoo before.

One Nap or Two Naps Daily?

I've been wondering if Hannah is starting to grow out of two naps a day and if she should only have one long afternoon nap.  So, today Hannah skipped her morning nap. Generally we run errands and she takes cat naps in the car but that didn't happen today.  So we had lunch at 12:00pm and this cute video shows Hannah so sleepy, she is falling asleep while she eats.

Luckily, I think this is enough evidence to show, she can continue her morning naps.

Robert Sweeping and Hailey Cooking

Here is Hailey making her second meal for the family, Archimedes's Meatloaf, out of the Mickey Mouse Cookbook.  We also had yellow squash and cookies.

Hailey was excited about doing dishes for the first 2 minutes then didn't want to anymore. I made her stay and wash the dishes she ate off of and Robert's.  Then Robert jumped to the chair and helped me finish the rest.

Big Sister and Little Brother

This is a cute little video of Hailey helping Robert get his shoes on so they can ride on the scooter with daddy.  Hailey keeps tell Robert to point.

This also reminded us of a little experience a couple of weeks ago when it wasn't too cold outside.  It was kind of a rough day with the kids and we were relieved when they were put to bed.  We noticed that there were some friends outside, so we went out to chat.

Nathan went back in after 10 minutes or so and found Hailey helping Robert put on his shoes to go outside to find us.  Generally Robert can't get out of bed unless the rocking chair is turned, which Hailey did. It's a little hard to be mad at them when they work so well together.

Matching Halloween Outfits

I found cute Halloween jammies or pajammies as the are frequently called, at Walmart and I couldn't resist. So here are the pictures I took of them.

 Hannah's is actual 24 months but they didn't have any other size. I just moved her into 12-18month clothes.

 I love it how both have the same facial expression.

 I also got a shirt for Nate that says "Budget Ninja Costume".  I have a shirt that is black also and says "I love Halloween"

Next year I want to make ghost pillow case dresses for the girls. Nate says I have to finish some of my projects before I can buy new material.

Also since we were in the bed room with the camera, I wanted to show you what Robert does while we are changing him. He loves to hang on the poll and swing. He's our little hanger.
