Birthday Luau

For Hailey's birthday party, we had a luau in the backyard.  Since she has a summer birthday, this theme will most likely be repeated in the future.

We had a bubble/water table, a kiddie pool, and a sprinkler set up.  We also had watermelon as a snack in addition to the cake.

Here's Cassy, Tyson, Luc, and Rylan at the bubble table.
We had this cake mold picked out for a few months now.  Surprisingly, she remembered that we had it and still wanted it for her birthday cake.  The cake is made from scratch as well as the frosting.  To limit the artificial colors, the light pink and darker pink was made with beet juice.  (you can't taste the beet at all and the only change I would make is having the juice refrigerated because it was a little more runny then I would like).  Either way Hailey loved the cake!!!

Here's Audrey, Russell, Emily, and Rylan checking out the sprinkler.
Here's Robert, Tyson, Cassy, and Mason at the bubble table.
While the other kids forgot about their cake and went off to play, Hannah hit the jackpot and eat everyone's cake and ice cream.
Then Hailey opened up her presents.

Here's Jeremy and Sharla above and their son Mason with Hannah below.
Here are my cool luau decorations.  At the end everyone got to take a lei (necklace) home.

Not a whole lot of kids wanted the kiddie pool.  Robert's just staring at it.
