Lunch Time Conversation

I enjoy Hailey talking more to me but sometimes it's not as helpful as I would like. This is the conversation we had the other day about what Hailey wants for lunch. Hailey does a lot of repeating instead of answering the question.

Setting the stage: I'm on the computer typing some emails when Hailey starts to push on my chair to get my attention.

Hailey: Eat, eat
Audrey: Alright, it's time for lunch. Do you want a sandwich?
Hailey: no
Audrey: Do you want a hot dog?
Hailey: no
Audrey: so do you want a sandwich or hot dog?
Hailey: no -waits- bread He-He bread (He-He is Hailey's way of saying Hailey)
Audrey: You want a sandwich?
Hailey: sam, sam (while nodding her head)
Audrey: okay we'll do sandwiches.

I start making the sandwich. I have peanut butter on one side I want to know what she wants on the other side.

Audrey: Do you want honey?
Hailey: honey
Audrey: or jam
Hailey: jam
Audrey: honey or jam?
Hailey jam yes
Audrey: jam or honey
Hailey: honey yes
Audrey: we're not getting anywhere, you're just repeating
Hailey: where rep

So I go to the closet to get the jam and honey. Maybe a visual will help.

Audrey: honey or jam
Hailey: Jam

Hailey grabs the honey and walks away with it.

Audrey: Are you going to put the away for mommy?
Hailey: away

I'm trying to open the jam when...

Hailey: no jam, honey!
Audrey: you want honey?
Hailey: honey, honey, yes, honey
Audrey: fine

So she got honey instead of jam and ate only a quarter of her sandwich.

Other Hailey-isms:
die-die = bye-bye
da-da = daddy
da-dee = baby

Audrey and All done sound the same.
